Dear anyone who still checks this lonely blog to see if perhaps, just maybe somebody was kind enough to drop a line.

Finally Chof beis Shvat is here and everyone is in NY.
Between Wednesday and Friday everybody managed (Sarah-just barely) to arrive safe and in one heap (as apposed to the traditional "one peice" which I will omit for fear of hurting the Freedman's sensibilities). Also in the same stretch of time everyone (Sarah... maybe next time) came by to visit Rivky, found her sleeping and had to come back later.
-Author's Note: Some of you may be wondering what happened to Tante Sarah?
Well, to be perfectly honest, I'm not sure myself. However this is how I heard the story:
Sarah (or mommy to you freedmans [Impretty sure I've used that line before, but it's been a while]) was on her way to the chof beis shvat convention in NY via Buenos Aires. In Buenos Aires she would have a 6 hour lay over, in which time she would have to go to the other -international- airport. Here's where the fun starts. As she was collecting her luggage at the Buenos Aires National Airport one of the bags rachamono leztlan fell on her foot. It hurt badly so she tok advantage of the 6 hours and went to the Buenos Aires National Hospital, emerging a few hours later with a brand new removable cast and a set of crutches. Oh yes, and a sprianed ankle.
Back to the story.
Thursday, everybody decided that they wuld meet togeher for supper at the montgomery apartment. All of a sudden everybody had the same great idea. Each thought, "Oh! Before I go to the apartment I'll stop by and visit Rivky on the way."
Three hundred and seven (to be exact) people showed up thursday night at the home of our hosts!
This episode past without violence.
Thereafter all of Bubbe Maryashe's ainiclach gathered in Oholei Torah for the Shloishim. Insert your own imaginative comic description here. Mendel Shagalov was MC. Henya Laine spoke. Bubbe Shulle spoke. Mume Rochel spoke (there's a taste of infinity). Someone read a poem and someone else sang bubbe's songs, and yet a thir fourth and fifth persons were sponteniously asked to darshan. And so it went, later into the night than I cared to stay awake for.
